The outcomes of Food Ministers' Meeting in July 2024 left little doubt that further regulation of the sector to address preventive health concerns is likely. This includes consideration of mandated Health Star Rating labelling if voluntary targets aren’t met, and a review of back-of-pack nutrition labelling.
More public attention is being paid to the role of food manufacturers in the health of consumers. Broader government activities in the area are also underway, including the Department of Health and Aged Care looking into policy options to restrict the advertising and marketing of unhealthy food to children, and responding to the recommendations from the recent Diabetes Inquiry.
In this webinar, Tanya Barden will explain the key political and regulatory risks around preventive health, the consequences for your business, and how the AFGC is responding.
Please note this webinar is for Full Member CEOs only. Separate engagement will be held for nutrition, regulatory, and corporate affairs personnel.
