Update on packaging regulation and the NPRS

Friday 17 March 12pm - 1pm AEDT

Following, Minister Plibersek's announcement last year that packaging regulation would be strengthened by 2025 (all packaging types, not just soft plastics), the Government has commenced a two-tiered review process.

The first tier involves economic modelling and cost benefit analysis of a potential reformed legislative framework. The second identifies and evaluates mandatory industry obligations under a reformed legislative framework. There is the potential for significant change encompassing additional regulatory cost and requirements to industry through this process.

There was also a recent announcement by NSW Premier Perrottet of his election commitment around a Supply Chain Commissioner to drive national reform around packaging to cut red tape and create consistency to reduce packaging costs.

Please join me on 17 March for our CEO Dialogue Webinar where we will be discussing packaging regulation and the latest movements on the NPRS, so please join us and bring all your questions, challenges and experiences.
